Jesus the Messiah:

Read: Isaiah 7:13-14: King Ahaz’s prophecy of the virgin birth and the coming Messiah.  Now read: Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:27; Isaiah 9:6; and Micah 5:2-5.

1.      How many generations were there from Abraham to Jesus’ birth? (Matthew 1:17)

2.      What did Joseph want to do with Mary when he heard she was with child? (Matthew 1:19)

3.      What did the angel of the Lord say to Joseph in a dream? (Matthew 1:20)

4.      What is the city of David called? (Luke 2:4)

5.      What was Zacharias’ prophecy in Luke 1:67-79

6.      In Luke 2:13-14 there was a heavenly host of angels. What were they saying?

7.      Who was to be the consolation of Israel? (Luke 2:25-32)

8.      Who was the man in Jerusalem that was waiting for the consolation of Israel? (Luke 2:25)

9.      Now the prophecies have been given and fulfilled. Jesus is born. The shepherds have seen the Christ child. The wise men have come and brought gifts. In Luke 2:19; what did Mary do?

10.  What does Christmas mean to you? What will you do this Christmas? Will you do what Mary has done after the shepherds came to visit and what the heavenly host of angels did when Jesus was born?

Judgement and Salvation

Isaiah:

Isaiah unveils God’s judgment and salvation. His judgment will be let loose upon all the nations that defy Him. Yet, the Lord promises hope for the future.
